Ed Westwick has revealed that he would like Cheryl Cole to appear on Gossip Girl.

The Mirror reports that Westwick, who plays Chuck, would love to meet the X Factor judge.

"I would like to meet Cheryl," he said. "I'd give her a hip bump. There's something about the soft Geordie accent on a girl that I really, really like."

He added: "My dad's from the north east of England so if Cheryl Cole was to make an appearance on our show, it would be great. I could talk to her about the amount of times I've been up to the north east."

However, Westwick admitted that Cole's accent could prove to be a problem.

"The American audience probably wouldn't understand Cheryl Cole," he said. "I don't think they understood any of the movie Trainspotting, so they could struggle. We'd have to work something out."
